In partnership with DC Central Kitchen, Summer 2017 will be full of wonderful activities at DCUG such as Nutrition Education classes being taught right at our farms. These classes will embody practicing healthy eating and cooking methods. We are excited to hear about the communities' recipes along with sharing our own take on healthy eating.
DC UrbanGreens also works to equip the younger generations on the importance of eating fresh veggies through sustainable methods. It is a blast linking the need to eat well with gardening skills. We host interactive field trips for local schools, teach composting classes, and employ youth through Muriel Bowser's Summer Youth Employment Program.

DC UrbanGreens has the desire to see fresh and clean food infiltrate the surrounding food desert neighborhoods. Our Market Manager, Suliman Abdullah, runs our market stand 2 days a week. All the food sold at our stand has been grown right at our farm locations. The produce is harvested the day of the market, talk about fresh!
We accept WIC, SNAP, EBT, and Produce Plus at our markets!
Unlike most markets, we continue to sell throughout the winter. DC UrbanGreens wants to extend the growing season even throughout the dark of winter. Check our online store for available produce.
Too cold to venture out to the market? Have no Fear! We have a delivery service for all residents who live in the 20019 zip code. Click "Farm to Front Door" to our online store to place your oder now!
open harvest hours
This summer, we will host open garden hours in which community residents can harvest their own veggies, learn new farming and gardening techniques, or simply enjoy the outdoors by visiting our farm.
We will host Harvest Hours once during the weekday and once on the weekend. If you are interested in staying updated regarding times and locations, visit our events page to stay updated!
