Moten Elementary students will be visiting DC UrbanGreens at our Fort Stanton Urban Farm for a fun afternoon learning about vegetables and farms. Our amazing partner, DC Central Kitchen, will lead a nutrition education demonstration to teach the students how to build their own kale salad.
On Saturday, October 14th hundreds of people across the city are taking action and joining the Grocery Walk. We're walking to downtown Anacostia from the nearest grocery store over 2 miles away, followed by a rally calling for city investment in access to healthy food for all.
We are so lucky to work with the incredible students of Ms. Elizabeth Sallies' elective gardening class at Cornerstone. They have helped us every Friday afternoon on the farm so that we can continue growing in the winter. We teach them about farming, eating healthy, and food systems and they teach us invaluable lessons as well! Come stop by:)

April 29th is an exciting for DCUG. We will be hosting our pilot day for our urban agriculture training program for PSA 702 residents. This program is 160hrs with a stipend of $11.50/hr Come out if you are interested in urban agriculture and you live in PSA 702.
We are very excited that a previous volunteer from MLK Service Day has asked to bring her team to volunteer with us once again this Monday the 24th of April. We will be completing implementation of our pollination station (yay bees!) & uncovering the plastic on our hoop house. Everyone is welcome!
